My name is Kurt Chism and I am starting my fifth year of teaching in Santa Rosa County. I have always enjoyed history and recently realized my passion for teaching the subject. This will be my third year teaching World History at Pace High School and I could not be more thrilled to work at such a spectacular school.

I graduated from the University of West Florida with my Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice and began working for the school board as a paraprofessional. I taught elementary school for my first three years. I developed my passion for teaching history during this three-year period and decided to get certified for high school history. I have my Professional Teaching Certificate for the state of Florida with the following subject areas: Elementary ED K-6, Middle Grades Social Science 5-9, and Social Science 6-12. I am also a College Board Certified Instructor for AP World History and AP Human Geography.

I have always enjoyed including historical sites in my summer vacations. History can truly open your eyes to a completely different world you never knew existed. Also, I feel it is important to include the fact that I am a Hamilton fanatic and can recite the musical upon request! I love traveling and learning about historical events. History is everything to me and I cannot wait to share my experiences with you!
