Welcome to HGAP
This is the page for AP Human. Here you will be able to find study resources for class content, class documents, and generic testing resources.
About the Course
A.P. Human Geography is an exciting course that dives into the distribution and differentiation of cultures all over the world. It is a challenging class that requires both independent and group projects, nightly homework, and the reading of a college-level text. The course culminates in May, with the AP Exam. If a student passes this exam, they will receive college credit for the course.
Course Breakdown
The particular topics studied in an AP Human Geography course should be judged in light of the following five college-level goals that build on the National Geography Standards developed in 1994 and revised in 2012 and 2019. On successful completion of the course, the student should be able to:
1. Interpret maps and analyze geospatial data.
2. Understand and explain the implications of associations and networks among phenomena in places.
3. Recognize and interpret the relationships among patterns and processes at different scales of analysis.
4. Define regions and evaluate the regionalization process.
5. Characterize and analyze changing interconnections among places.
